Plants Vs Zombie- Why we love it
Let's admit it before I start this review, we ALL love
Plants vs. Zombies. The actual beauty of the game lies in the bizarrely unique idea of mortal combat
between, perhaps the two most unrelated things in the world, plants and zombies.
The games brings mythical zombies into existence and gives plants a
conscience which makes the latter bravely struggle to protect the hand that waters it. Perfection is very hard to
achieve, but be assured, Plants versus Zombies is very close to it. Plants vs. Zombies will change
gardens-as-we-know-it!
The game falls directly under tower defense games, although its design is fascinating even
to gamers not particularly fond of this genre.
The idea of the gameplay is simple, there are zombies craving for your grey matter and to
keep your brains where they belong(in your head), you need to plant cute, dandy trees in a clever arrangement so
that they can keep those brain-thirsty zombies away from you.
The earlier levels of the games are quite simple and lightly engaging. The level of
difficulty increases with a not-so-steep gradient, letting the player brace himself for the next few upcoming
stages.
The advances stages of Plants vs. Zombies are decent mind bogglers as the
difficulty gets very high. The player must display a lot strategic ability and smartness to get rid of the
lawnmower zombies.
Plants vs. Zombies is a great game which makes sure you keep
smiling all the way through it.
A cheerful and entertaining atmosphere is kept up at all times. Whether its
the cute, sunny little soundtrack composed by Laura Sigihar that plays in the background or the interesting imagery
of the game.
The moonwalking disco dancer zombie and the rugby player zombies are
definitely going to make everyone chuckle. The gamer also gets to unlock a lot of interesting items as the game
moves on, like the jalapeno which acts like an incinerator, bucket helmet-ed zombies and new parts of your
lawn.
The only downside about Plants vs. Zombies is the slow rate at which the game
progresses. One might get bored by playing too many too easy levels before finally reaching the rather challenging
levels. Its important to note that no two levels are the same in terms of difficulty as every level introduces
something new and has a different edge to it.
PopCap games originally released Plants vs. Zombies in 2009 for windows and Mac OS. The
worldwide success for this game can be estimated by the fact that within the next few years, on popular demand,
several other versions were released, including BlackBerry
Playbook version, Android and Nintendo DS version. One of the best things about the games
in that more and more puzzles, minigames of Plants vs. Zombies are released into the market by PopCap which act as
great after-parties once you're done playing the adventure mode.
So to
summarize, Plants vs. Zombies is THE game for everyone!
If you don't have it already, its time you stopped missing and join in the battle of the
green and the undead!
